How to print large print crossword puzzles at home
Large print only helps if it still looks large on paper. These steps keep the grid readable on a home printer.
Open the puzzle page and choose Download PDF. That file is built for letter-size paper with cells around 1.2 cm wide and clues at 16-point type.
In your printer dialog, set paper to Letter (or A4), turn off 'fit to page' shrinking, and use portrait. If your printer has an 'actual size' option, use it.
Print in black and white is fine. High contrast matters more than color. Use ordinary copy paper; thicker paper is nicer if you write firmly.
If the page still feels small, use the A+ text size on the website and print the web page instead of the PDF. The print stylesheet keeps the grid large and hides menus.
Activity directors: print the puzzle PDF and the answer-key PDF back to back. Keep a few extras for visitors who join late.
