Large print crossword puzzles for the visually impaired
Low vision is not one-size-fits-all. Some people need bigger letters. Others need stronger contrast or better light. A good puzzle setup uses all three.
On this site, letters are bold, the background is warm off-white, and buttons are at least 48 pixels tall. Use the A+ control if you need larger text.
For paper, download the PDF rather than screenshotting the screen. Print at actual size. A clipboard stops the page from sliding.
A lighted magnifier and a bright reading lamp help even when the print is already large. Avoid glossy paper that glares.
If a dense newspaper-style grid is too much, use our easy criss-cross puzzles. Fewer black squares and shorter words are easier to scan.
Books from Puzzlewright and Brain Games that mention NAVH or 'large print' are a better starting point than standard paperbacks labeled 'easy'.
